Great Falls Coffeehouse PRESENTS: Sue Kranz and Ben Tousley have been bringing their uplifting voices and sweet harmonies to East Coast audiences for the past 28 years. With flute and guitar and in original songs and covers, this lively and engaging duo offer heartfelt ballads, soulful love songs, incisive social commentary and a delightful sampling of songs from various traditions including Latino, Irish and Jewish. Sue Kranz has been much in demand as a vocalist and instrumentalist in Boston and western MA. A gifted singer-songwrit er, she has released three recordings of original songs and covers and has often appeared with the women’s singing group Constellations. A world traveler who has collaborated musically from Peru to Nepal, Kranz has likewise brought her creative gifts to her classroom as an elementary school teacher for many years in Cambridge and western MA.

Singer-songwrit er Ben Tousley is well-known for his stirring anthems and wry storytelling that bring together the personal, spiritual and political. He has received the Beyond War award for bringing programs of songs and stories to schools and libraries and has released six albums of original songs. Pete Seeger writes: “I respect the work of Ben Tousley tremendously.”
The coffeehouse takes place in the historic Great Hall of the Great Falls Discovery Center at 2 Avenue A, in downtown Turners Falls. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Coffee and homemade baked goods are available. The museum and museum store are open during intermission. Suggested sliding scale donation $6–$12, free for children. Donations help the Friends of the Discovery Center provide free nature programming for the public.
