Adults and children of all ages are welcome to join for a day of FREE fishing fun on Saturday, June 4.from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held rain or shine. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
At the Great Falls Discovery Center, there will be fly casting, fly tying and stream demonstrations as well as, a fish catapult, fish story corner, fish games and lots of fish themed activities for kids. Decorate a sea lamprey crown, follow a seahorse along a story walk and have your face painted.
Learn how to create a gyoyaku, an ancient Japanese fish print from noon to 2 p.m. at the nearby Turners Falls Fishway, fish art will be displayed in window galleries along Avenue A.
A free fishing program will be offered across the bridge in Gill at Barton Cove. Equipment will be provided and no fishing license is required.
