Are you an artist curious about the Public Art Process? Join the UMass Arts Extension Service (AES) for a free, evening-long "Introduction to the Public Art Process" workshop. Public Art projects, whether they are free-standing artworks or community-engagement projects, are excellent opportunities for Western Massachusetts artists to expand their vision, be paid to make art, build their portfolio, and have their work seen by a diverse audience within our region and beyond.
Open to artists of all mediums interested in creating public art projects, participants will receive a broad overview of the unique issues, skills needed, and steps required to create a competitive public art project application at the local and national level Admission is free, but pre-registration is required:

The Introduction to the Public Art Process workshop is part of the UMass Amherst Arts Extension Service's Arts Entrepreneurship Initiative which serves artists through intensive workshops on the business of art, courses, publications, and an internship program to connect UMass and 5 College arts and culture students with individual artists and arts organizations.
