Art Reception Saturday, September 16
Nina's Nook AND Great Falls Harvest, 5:30pm
The show features erotic art by local and regional artists who have created sculpture, photography, painting, collage and drawings to fill the intimate gallery space on Avenue A in Turners Falls. Soliciting work on a continuum from “mild to wild” has resulted in a diverse exhibit of over 50 works from artists who answered the call.
The ridiculously narrow gallery has arranged for an opening reception to be held at the nearby Great Falls Harvest on Saturday, September 16 starting at 5:30. Mingle with the artists of Triple S and view larger works on display in the Great Falls space after taking a walk through the Nook gallery.
Refreshments will be followed by a talk by Yana Tallon-Hicks, local Valley Advocate sex columnist, sex educator, and relationships therapist at 6:30 p.m. She will speak about the importance of pleasure-based sex education and how erotic art can foster pleasure-based helping, expression, and experience. A Question and Answer will follow where Yana will be available to answer audience member’s personal sex and relationship questions (anonymously submitted) or otherwise speak about her work.
A generous door prize goodie bag of adult toys and accessories donated by the Adam & Eve store in Greenfield will be raffled off following the talk. The all-female band She Said will close the evening out playing a full set of their dance-able blues, rock, and country infused originals.
