The 33rd annual Welcome Yule celebrates the return of the light with a festive family show filled with music, dance, songs and stories to drive the dark away!
This year, we bring the interplay of darkness and light, day and night to the stage with the classic tale of the cunning fox and the proud rooster, set in a mythical medieval hamlet. The villagers and the animals enact the symbolic death of the year, the coming of winter, and the rebirth of spring as the fox and the rooster pursue each other through the countryside.
Welcome Yule’s signature wassailing songs and carols will be on the program, along with some new music sure to become favorites. Puppets, border dancing and a mummers play will also be included, along with the passing of the Yule log and the Abbots Bromley Horn Dance.
