Nina’s Nook is pleased to present the digital prints of Turners Falls artist Diana Pedrosa. Diana is a multi media artist who goes by the alias ixchelailee or ixchel. She combines past photography education and passion for image transfer with her tactile inclinations towards fibers and patterns.
Diana’s materials include pattern paper, electrical, scotch, & gaffer's tape, found and appropriated images, photographs & photocopies, glue and paint and most recently, she has been using digital photo editing programs on her phone. This is how the images in her current show were produced.
Recently, she has designed and printed a full deck of custom playing cards, available for pre-order @ 26.00; viewable on her Instagram account @ixchelailee.art.
The show is part of PaperJam, a month of exhibits, workshops, presentations and performances on the theme of Paper that will be taking place at venues in Turners Falls this September. Watch for more information soon on these programs, part of a collaboration between the Great Falls Discovery Center, the Town of Montague’s cultural entity RiverCulture, and Exploded View, a group of women artists and writers who work thematically as an ensemble.
The Nook is located next to the Black Cow Burger Bar on Avenue A in Turners Falls. It is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 5 or by appointment: call 413-834-8800.
