SUNDAY, May 5
Sheffield Elementary School
43 Crocker Avenue, Turners Falls, Noon-5pm
Hosted by Musica Franklin, a community nonprofit arts and social justice initiative.
Musica Franklin - a free after-school music program open to children ages 7 to 12 - provides more than just violin and drumming lessons. Singing, dancing, snacks, performances, peer leadership, and community celebrations are all included at sites in Greenfield and Turners Falls. Working from the belief that the pursuit of musical excellence teaches students to strive for excellence in all areas of their lives, Musica Franklin in three short years has reached over 100 students.
At this first annual Fun Fest, all ages will enjoy a range of interactive and creative activities – from musical performances, juggling, puppet theater, face painting, crafts, and a bouncy house to sound wave demonstrations, a family dance, and an instrument petting zoo.
Refreshments will be available from popular area food trucks and a bake sale.
Featured artist, Mister. G Latin GRAMMY Award winner and four Parents’ Choice Gold Awards, tours internationally when not at home in the valley, and will perform in both English and Spanish.
